Quantitative Aquatic Ecology/ Fisheries Post-Doctoral Research Associate
The Illinois Natural History Survey has a long history of leading in the field of large river research. We have an opportunity for a post-doctoral researcher who would like to contribute insights to a variety large river fisheries management questions using existing long-term fisheries databases for the Illinois, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers (http://wwx.inhs.illinois.edu/fieldstations/irbs/research/). The main project goals are to; 1) establish the comparability of navigable river sampling methods, and 2) assess spatial or temporal patterns and trends among species and between habitats over multiple years. These analyses will form a significant part of the foundation of a long-term natural resources monitoring program. In addition to the main goals, the post-doctoral researcher will have the opportunity to explore the dataset and develop additional large river research areas. Peer-reviewed publication of results is a basic expectation of this position.
Must have obtained Ph.D. by the date of hire and within the last five years. The position will be supervised by Drs. Andy Casper and John Chick and be based at the Illinois Natural History Survey's Illinois River Biological Station in Havana IL (http://wwx.inhs.illinois.edu/fieldstations/irbs/).
