Activities:
Insect systematics, phylogeny and evolution of Collembola, evolution of arthropod muscle proteins
Research:
Ongoing projects include a historical collections-based evaluation of changes in Illinois springtail communities; taxonomy and phylogeny of entomobryid springtails; analysis of the distribution of muscle proteins in arthropods; taxonomy, biogeography and organization of springtail community assemblages in eastern Caribbean islands
Message to students: I welcome students interested in studying the effect of climate and environmental changes on the distribution of soil microarthropods, Collembola systematics in general and the evolution of muscle proteins in arthropods
