Ecology & Natural History
Habitat: Species is distributed in still waters of ponds and sloughs. It is locally abundant on stagnant ponds. ILPIN Notes: This species has a thick thallus, no roots, 1 reproductive pouch; thallus is rounded above, with about 3 papillae. At most it is 1.5 mm long. Most of upper surface found below water. Plants usually vegetatively reproduce by budding. This is considered as good fish food and cover. It is recorded that is is eaten by ducks and muskrats. Functional Relationships:
